Brett is one of the most accomplished and awarded cyclists in the nation. His list of achievements includes Olympic, Commonwealth Games and World Championship gold medals. He is a 17 time gold medallist at National Championship level and won the 1999 Tour Down Under sprint classification.

RUSSELL VAN HOUT

Russell is one of the most experienced heads in the Savings & Loans Cycling Team, having raced extensively in professional teams overseas. Russell was the 2006 Australian Road Champion and a Tour Down Under stage winner.

DAVID PELL

Height: 1.76m

Bendigo's David Pell is another experienced rider in the Savings & Loans Cycling Team. He has tasted considerable success on the national circuit in recent years, including bronze in the time trial discipline at the 2007 National Championships.

CRAIG MCCARTNEY

Craig is the second of the Savings & Loans Cycling Team's Victorian riders and has enjoyed a strong first year of racing with the team. His best results came in New Zealand’s Tour of Wellington, where he finished second overall.

WILL DICKESON

Will is a versatile cyclist who has raced at a national level on the road, in mountain biking and BMX. His major tours to date include the Tour of Canberra and the Tour of Gippsland.

SIMON PEARSON

Date of birth: 6 September 1983

Another of the younger cyclists in the team, Simon's major tours include the Tour of Gippsland, the Tour of Canberra and the Tour of New Caledonia.

TOM MIDDLETON

Date of birth: 24th June 1986
Weight: 69kg
Height: 1.78m
The youngest member of the Savings & Loans Cycling Team, Tom has had an outstanding 2007 which has included strong results in the Top End Tour and the Tour of the Murray. Tom is an up and coming rider on the Australian cycling scene.

PETER MUELLER

Peter has been a solid contributor to the Savings & Loans Cycling Team for a number of years now, with the highlight of his career wearing the leaders jersey at the 2005 Jayco Herald Sun Tour.

STEPHEN CUNNINGHAM - TEAM MANAGER

Without the hard work and commitment of Stephen Cunningham it's unlikely the Savings & Loans Cycling team would exist. Stephen had a vision to assemble the first SA based professional team, which he achieved and then expanded to include cyclists from other Australian states. Before moving into a management role with the team this year, Stephen was an integral member of the team. Over his career, Stephen has been an accomplished cyclist whose major achievements are: member of the winning team in the 2004 Jacob's Creek Tour Down Under, 2004 Australian Open Sprint Champion and winner of the Most Aggressive Rider Award in 2003 Jacob's Creek Tour Down Under. He was also a stage winner at the 2005 Herald Sun Tour.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PATRICK JONKER - SPORTS DIRECTOR

Patrick has travelled the world on a pushbike, living and breathing cycling most of his life. A five times Tour de France competitor (12th overall in 1996), Patrick has also represented Australia at the Olympics (coming eighth in the Barcelona Games) and Commonwealth Games. A bittersweet memory for many cycling enthusiasts is Patrick leading his team to victory in the 2004 Tour Down Under and announcing his retirement from the sport.

Patrick continues to be heavily involved in cycling and plays a key role in the Savings & Loans Cycling Team, mentoring cyclists and sharing his experiences with the riders.
